League Play

Leagues are available to the general public for a number of sports from darts, to golf,  and bowling to softball. So why not shooting? Part of the reason is expense. Shooting that many rounds each week can add up, plus you will need to clean your weapon every week after shooting.

There's also the safety component of drawing from holster or moving and shooting.

OVR has solved those issues and has created four 8 week shooting leagues throughout the year. 1-2 nights a week are dedicated as league nights for league players only; based on the number of participants. Teams pay an entry fee that will cover range time during these scheduled league play times. During this time, players may come and go as they wish and bring in food or drink.

Teams consist of 4 players which should ideally participate together during league night, but they may register their score on other nights with proper arrangements to the governing body. The expections are weeks 7 and 8, which do require 2 or 4 players to participate accordingly.

Each week, members will compete in 3 different drills. They will be allowed to run each drill twice and register the best score. At the end of each week, a weekly individual and team high score will be announced and rewarded.

At the end of the season, an individual best and team best will be announced and rewarded.

The league drills are set up so as to advance as the league progresses. This means week 1 is the easiest and week 8 is the most advanced shooting.

The league progresses as follows:

  • Week 1 - Pistol shooting of multiple targets from a stationary spot with reloads.
  • Week 2 - Pistol shooting while moving with reloads and multiple targets
  • Week 3 - Drawing from concealed holster with strong and weak hand shooting and reloads
  • Week 4 - Rifle shooting with multiple targets, moving targets, and reloads
  • Week 5 - Similar to week 4, but adding in pistol transition from rifle
  • Week 6 - Rifle and pistol shooting from barrier, various positions, moving and shooting, and judgment shooting
  • Week 7 - Individuals will be pushed through room clearing using pistol and then rifle
  • Week 8 - Teams of 2 and 4 members will move and shoot together
