Learn to perform a simple 2 shot drill. This drill can be performed with nearly any weapon and at nearly any range.
Run through safety and aiming checklist
This is a great drill to work on getting multiple shots on target. You can make it more advanced by drawing from holster.
In this drill, you will fire 2 shots with your eyes closed. Start with lining up your target, then close your eyes and take your shots. This will teach you to hold steady. One you've mastered this one, advance to performing from low ready and then from holster. After each series of 2 shots, look at where your body naturally wants to shoot and make your adjustments.
This is a drill for advanced beginners. You can perform the drill from a low ready, progress up to holster, and then concealed holster. It forces you to concentrate to take 2 head shots, then reload, and complete with 4 body shots.
We return to a beginner drill this week with Getting Off the X. This is an orange level, making it the highest beginner classification. In this drill, we demonstrate take a single side step or a full side step and then firing. Mastering this, will prepare you for more advanced shooting down the road.
Trigger freeze is a great introduction to shooting multiple targets multiple times. There are 3 sets of 4 targets that require 2 shots per target.

The El Presidente drill is not a drill that can be performed at just any range. In this drill, you begin with your back to the target. You must turn to face the threat, draw from holster, engage multiple targets with multiple shots, and reload. You're incorporating nearly every skill.
You'll notice this is a repeat of a previous drill, but we used a pistol last time This time we are using the rifle. With the longer barrel, it makes it more difficult to manipulate and reload.
This is a drill to introduce you to moving and shooting. Move between 4 cones, firing at each position and lowering your weapon to move between them.
This is a very custom drill to OVR. It is a live video training scenario in which you arrive home to a door that is cracked open. You enter to find an intruder. The remainder of the drill is based on your reactions of drawing a weapon, firing, running away, or yelling and the intruder runs away or attacks.
This is a great drill to start moving while shooting. You will draw from holster, but can go from low ready. At presentation, begin walking toward the targets double tapping each of 3 targets. Be sure to maintain a stable base and control your movements and shooting.
Multiple shots with reloading

The ground clock is a very specialized drill that can only be performed at special ranges. But it is no less important to be able to shoot from the ground.
This drill incorporates a number of skills. You will be shooting around barriers, moving while shooting, and reloading. Accuracy is important, but so is stead movement and confirming targets are down.
This is an advancement from last weeks drill. The movement and targets are the same. The advancement is that you will start with your rifle. As you move to the second cone, reload your rifle. Transition to your pistol while moving to the third cone and then reload your pistol on your movement to the fourth and last cone.
This is an advanced drill involving moving, shooting, transition, weapon manipulation, and reloads. It is a repeat of a previous drill with only rifle or pistol. OVR can customize the drill with extra reloads, custom targets, or any other way the clients wish.
This is one of our first 2 man drills. This is a great drill to help you focus on multiple factors. First starters, you have to perform 2 reloads. Secondarily, your teammate is doing the same drill next to you and could cause a distraction. Additionally, if you of you is faster, you must maintain your AOR or assist your teammate. Come in to OVR and practice this drill.
